International Women’s Day at the Consulate General of India, Hong Kong & Macau
A day — in fact, a whole month, a whole year — to celebrate women across the world: those who inspire us, support us, walk beside us, and help us grow.
It was a true honour and moment of pride to have my painting, “Still Waters,” shortlisted and displayed at the International Women’s Day event organised by the Consulate General of India, Hong Kong & Macau SARs, alongside the beautiful works of many talented artists.
For me, this recognition holds special significance — as I’ve only recently embarked on my artistic journey. Seeing my work displayed in such an esteemed setting reaffirmed my belief that it’s never too late to rediscover yourself or follow a long-nurtured passion.
The event also featured a wonderful panel discussion with inspiring women from diverse fields. Listening to their stories was deeply enriching — each one had a unique path, yet the underlying emotions, challenges, and victories resonated with every woman in the room.
A key takeaway from the discussion was that while our goals may differ, the journeys and experiences of women worldwide share a remarkable similarity — of resilience, empathy, courage, and determination.
The panelists beautifully highlighted the role of parents (especially mothers) in nurturing dreams from an early age. Equally important, however, was the support of male allies — fathers, husbands, colleagues, mentors, and friends — who stand beside women in their journeys.
I personally owe a heartfelt thank you to my forever cheerleader and ally, my husband – Piyush Srivastava, who has always believed in me, supported my dreams, and encouraged me to chase my passions fearlessly
Art has become my mojo, my source of joy and strength. Beyond work and everyday life, it’s my way of reflecting, expressing, and celebrating life. This creative pursuit has helped me find balance, positivity, and a deeper connection to myself.
This International Women’s Day reminded me that every woman carries a story worth celebrating — of grace, grit, and growth. Here’s to all women — yesterday, today, and tomorrow — who continue to inspire change in their own unique ways.
