Art as a therapy,at Australian Chamber of Commerce
It was an honour to be invited as one of the panel speakers at the AustCham Women in Business Network event, held in collaboration with The Hive and Phenomenally Pink, to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The event brought together medical experts, survivors, and advocates to discuss an issue that affects countless women across Hong Kong and the world — the importance of early screening and regular health checks.
The session, led by Professor Victoria Elegant, featured an engaging panel including Dr. Dianna Cooke, Dr. Lorraine Chow, and myself. Together, we shared insights on identifying, preventing, and managing breast cancer — and more importantly, on building awareness and access to life-saving screenings.
“Breast cancer awareness is not just about one month — it’s about empowering women to take charge of their health every single day.”
As a breast cancer survivor, I was grateful for the opportunity to share my personal journey — the strength I found through a support network, the power of positive thinking, and the healing I discovered through creative expression and art.
This event also highlighted the proactive efforts of organisations like Phenomenally Pink, who provided on-site breast cancer screenings during the session — helping attendees take immediate, meaningful action for their health.
A special thank you to AustCham Hong Kong, Professor Victoria Elegant, and my fellow panelists for this impactful discussion, and to innocent drinks for keeping the audience refreshed with their delicious and healthy offerings!
I continue to raise funds for breast cancer screening initiatives through my artwork, and it brings me immense joy to know that creativity can be a catalyst for change and wellbeing.
